Happy Grandparents Day!

Today is Grandparents Day, a day to celebrate everything that grandparents do for their families. Grandparents Day became an official observance in the United States in 1979 by proclamation of President Jimmy Carter. It is always observed on the first Sunday after Labor Day.

Make sure the grandparents and great-grandparents in your family are recognized and feel your appreciation today. Make this day special with a phone call or visit. For some grandparents, a letter expressing appreciation for the grandparent's love and influence is the best gift they could receive.

It is not an accident that the official flower of Grandparent's Day is the Forget-Me-Not. To hear the official song, "A Song for Grandma and Grandpa," view the video at YouTube.
